Hale Mahaolu is excited to announce the upcoming groundbreaking for Liloa Hale – a new affordable senior housing community in Kihei, Maui. Scheduled to begin construction in August 2024, the project is part of our ongoing commitment to provide safe, comfortable, and affordable housing in Maui County.
Liloa Hale will feature 117 units, exclusively for seniors who earn 60% or less of the Area Median Income (AMI) – helping to address the critical need for affordable senior housing on Maui.
Situated in the heart of Kihei, on a 3.61-acre property, Liloa Hale is a three-story apartment building located on Liloa Drive. The site is adjacent to Hope Chapel and Hale Mahaolu’s existing senior housing property, Hale Mahaolu Ehiku. The location is convenient to essential services and amenities. The property will feature a picnic area, community meeting room, laundry room and a landscaped outdoor plaza.
We hope the proximity to Hale Mahaolu Ehiku will contribute to a sense of community and provide residents of both properties with easy access to increased social opportunities. Hale Mahaolu expects to welcome the first tenants of Liloa Hale in 2026.
