Meals program

Meals

Hale Mahaolu strives to support Maui County residents by offering an array of services to help them maintain an independent lifestyle.  In 1990, Hale Mahaolu addressed the nutritional needs of the elderly and disabled by creating the organization’s first meal program in its newly constructed kitchen facility.  Since then, the demand for this service has grown substantially and our staff continues to serve clients a nutritious well-balanced meal delivered right to their dining table!

In addition to its meals program, Hale Mahaolu’s Kitchen also prepares lunches for programs such as Meals on Wheels.

Congregate Housing Services Program (CHSP)

Since 1980, the Congregate Housing Services Program has been providing services to Hale Mahaolu residents in order to help them maintain an independent lifestyle and avoid premature placement in a nursing or care home.  This program is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development and Hale Mahaolu.

What does the CHSP program do?

  • Provides lunches and dinners seven days a week, including holidays to residents of the Hale Mahaolu Akahi and Elua sites.
  • Assists participants in obtaining or making use of the help available in the community (i.e. housekeeping and chore services, transportation, Maui County meal programs, Public Health Nursing, etc.)

How much will it cost?

A reasonable fee for each meal is based on the participant’s annual income.
